Lava Glass

Fragile Tree, Fragile Future

$19,000

Garden Sculpture Fragile Tree, Fragile Future. This sculpture was part of the exhibition 'Sculpture in the Gardens' at Auckland Botanic Gardens.

An original piece of glass art. Suitable as a landscape design accent and garden art. Handcrafted by award-winning glass artist Lynden Over in his Lava Glass Studio in Taupo, New Zealand.

Fragile Tree, Fragile Future is an environmental statement piece. One of the consequences of climate change is an increased risk of bush fires, as seen all over the world in 2019/2020. Trees, the lungs of the planet, are under attack from many fronts. This glass sculpture is a memorial to all trees ravaged by fire. The fiery red trunk represents the burning tree, and the green flowers, hope and new growth.
